The Primary Fitness Games employs a comprehensive scoring system designed to reward both speed and endurance while ensuring fair play. Understanding this system is crucial for teams to strategize effectively and track their progress throughout the competition.
Point Allocation
Teams earn points based on their performance in each workout.
Points are awarded for:
1. Number of repetitions completed (for AMRAP, EMOM or CHIPPER-style workouts)
2. Finishing position (for "FOR TIME" workouts - faster completion equals more points)
Cumulative Scoring
Points from each workout are carried over and added to subsequent workouts.
This cumulative approach means consistent performance across all workouts is key to overall success.
Penalties
To maintain fairness and adherence to rules, penalty deductions are applied.
A 30-point deduction, taken from the cumulative scoring, is made when an infraction occours.
The list and type of infractions is shared with the Marshalls, teachers and athletes before each event start.
Tiebreakers
In the event of a tie in final total points:
1. The team with fewer penalties will be ranked higher.
2. If still tied, the team with the better performance in the final workout will take precedence.
Final Ranking
After all workouts, teams will be ranked based on their total accumulated points minus any penalties.
Awards will be presented to the top-performing teams, celebrating their strength, endurance, and teamwork.
This scoring system encourages teams to perform at their best in every workout while also emphasizing the importance of following rules and maintaining good sportsmanship throughout the competition.
